Hi!

I’m trying to connect manageiq with bmc remedy. I need that when I create a virtual machine to turn a file into a remedy. How can you connect these two applications?

Thanks!

Old but worth to take a look: https://github.com/ramrexx/CloudFormsPOC/tree/master/Automate/CloudFormsPOC/Integration/BMC or https://github.com/rhtconsulting/miq-BMC

Hi,
BMC api has now changed, they are Rest and no more soap. Have a look at https://docs.bmc.com/docs/display/public/ars9000/BMC+Remedy+AR+System+REST+API+overview

OK I did not know that BMC switched from SOAP to REST API. The code I found is old indeed so will not suit your needs. There is no out of box support for Remedy so you’ll need to create the integration yourself. For a start I recommend reading Peter McGowan’s book on automation: Mastering Automation in CloudForms 4.2 and ManageIQ Euwe.

Next you can use other integrations as samples to make your own. Personally I used Kevin Morey’s code to start with ServiceNow ticketing, available on GitHub. This should give ideas how to start such a work. Unfortunately this is not just about “configuring an API” but you’ll need get into (Ruby) coding. If you feel this is too much then you need to find an experienced consultant who can do this for you.
