Customized placement

Hi,

In a fine-3 and Vsphere 6.x I want to customize VM placement and let a specific group of users have access to a limited scope of ressources. As an example I need to let those users to see only a specific set of datastores in the provisioning dialog. What are the options to do that and what is the best approach ?

Hi,

Best way I can think of is:

  • Create a tag for your teams
    -Tag datastore and user groups with it
  • Get datastore using a dynamic dropdown list and check if datastore has team tag corresponding to user group tag
