I am new to ManageIQ . I am facing a strange problem when I reboot ManageIQ , the static IP I gave to the machine is lost and again I have to give Ip to it after every reboot (My ManageIQ machine is running on Hyper-v). If anyone know solution to this problem please help.
If the appliance looses it’s IP address, it is a general linux problem.
Did you use appliance_console to set the IP address? Have you tried to manually configure an IP address? Is the a conflict with NetworkManager perhaps? Which appliance version to you use? CloudForms 5.0 recently switched from RHEL 7 to RHEL 8.
Thanks for the help, after your suggestion I use appliance_console to set IP address. Now its working fine.
ok, you’re welcome
I am having the same issue with cloudforms beta appliance cfme-vsphere-18.104.22.168-1. I have created a support ticket.
“nmcli conn show” gives ens3 interface which does not exist in my system. I have eth0.
File /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 shows correct static configuration, but “nmcli d s” shows that eth0 interface is not managed and there is no connection config for eth0 (nmcli c s).
To fix, i did following: stop NetworkManager, remove ifcfg-eth0, ifcfg-ens3, restart system, use nmcli/nmtui to configure connection.
I use appliance_console to set IP address. Now its working fine.
It’s a bug of appliance_console in my case. It sets NM_CONTROLLED=no in interface configuration file.
