Pending Provisioning a virtual machine

Hi Guys,

I installed ManageIQ in VMWare environment using available OVA.

When I try to provision a virtual machine that request is pending and not know at what stage stopped.

Hi Daniel,

I’m sorry to hear that it’s not working properly for you.

Here’s a few things you can do:

  • Make sure the automate role is enabled.
  • Check for errors in the evm.log and automation.log.
  • Try to manually approve the provision request.
  • Restart the server. We’ve seen issues where the queue workers have a problem that prevents them from picking up the queued provision request.

Faced similar issue on a fresh ManageIQ installation where all my provisioning requests got auto-approved and kept pending as “Starting Automation” after that.

Found out “Automation Engine” server roles wasn’t selected for the appliance and enabling that did the job.

Configure->Configuration->Settings->Zones->Server. Then scroll to “Server Control” section to find this option.
