Schedule DB Backup - samba issue

I tried to schedule a Database Backup. Selected samba, specified URI and username and password but if I validate it then I receive the error below.

How can I troubleshoot it?

Error during ‘Validate’: Depot Settings validation failed with error: mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on //server/bckshare, missing codepage or helper program, or other error (for several filesystems (e.g. nfs, cifs) you might need a /sbin/mount. helper program) In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try dmesg | tail or so.

Hello Karel,

The mount command is failing.

Were you able to get the output from dmesg | tail right after hitting the Validate button?
If so can you provide me with that output?

Also, the command we issue looks like this:
mount -t cifs ‘//{host}{mnt_path}’ {mnt_point} -o rw,username=’{user}’, password=’{password}’, domain=’{domain}'

Perhaps you could try running that from the command line on you appliance and let us know what you see.

I installed cifs-utils package and it fixed the issue.
yum -y install cifs-utils

@Joe_Vlcek does this mean we need the cifs-utils package added to the appliance?

Just for clarification. I am testing Cloudforms version 5.5.2.4.20160127105142_395c086 vsphere virtual appliance. Yes, installation of the package fixed the issue.
