Using AWS RDS as an External Postgres Database

Is it possible to use RDS as the External Postgres Database? When I enter the endpoint for RDS into the hostname box I run into not enough space to enter the ‘.com’ at the end of the address.

Is the space my only limitation or is there another stumbling block/brick wall in my near future?
